Planet Hollywood's poker room, previously known as the 'fun room', has made a comeback in Las Vegas.

In the heart of the bustling Las Vegas Strip, the Planet Hollywood poker room has reopened its doors, offering a modern and inviting space for poker enthusiasts. After a hiatus of nearly four years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the room is back with a fresh vision and a host of exciting features.

The newly refurbished poker room boasts 12 dedicated cash game tables, a balcony overlooking the main casino floor known as the Pleasure Pit, 21 flatscreen TVs, and a stylish gothic-themed decor with plush surroundings. For added convenience, a private bathroom and proximity to a new restaurant/lounge called Caramella within Planet Hollywood are available for players.

The management team, led by experienced poker industry professionals including Andy Rich, Anthony Moody, and Anthony Mink, is committed to creating a fun, social atmosphere for both cash and tournament players. The reopening has been marked by events such as a PokerNews meetup night, highlighting its return as a lively poker destination.

The Planet Hollywood poker room offers a diverse range of regular cash games, including $1/3 no-limit hold'em, $2/3 no-limit hold'em, $3/5 no-limit hold'em, $2 Bomb Pot no-limit hold'em, $1/1 pot-limit Omaha, $5/5 pot-limit Omaha, $2 Bomb Pot PLO Double Board, and $4/8 limit Omaha high.

In addition to the regular games, Planet Hollywood will host the third-annual Chainsaw Mixed Series of Poker, starting on May 12. This inaugural event at Planet Hollywood will feature events like Omaha 8, HORSE, TORSE, PLO8, Big O, HORSE championship, TORSE championship, and 2-7 Triple draw. The Chainsaw Mixed Series of Poker schedule includes nine events spread over nine days, offering a Chainsaw-approved experience.

Notably, the grand opening of the new poker room took place on a quiet Friday morning in May, just weeks before the start of the World Series of Poker. Jack Effel, Senior Vice President of Poker Operations and the WSOP at Caesars, hinted that the new space could potentially become a third part of the official WSOP summer trip, alongside Horseshoe and Paris.

The room's location, strategically situated near other major poker venues like Horseshoe and Paris, makes it an attractive destination for players wanting to drop in for games while on the Strip. With its reopening, Planet Hollywood has expanded the options available to players on the Strip, revitalizing poker offerings and helping sustain the competitive and social poker culture in Las Vegas.

The continued operation of poker rooms at multiple Strip properties, despite recent regulatory changes like Caesars and MGM limiting poker chip cash-outs to their own properties, shows that poker remains an active part of the nightlife and casino landscape. The reopening of Planet Hollywood’s poker room is a positive addition to the competitive Las Vegas poker market, providing players with a modern, convivial space close to other poker hotspots on the Strip.
