Lottery service WestLotto partners with OpenBet and integrates Neccton's technology.

In a significant move for the German gaming market, Michael Auer, CEO of Neccton at OpenBet, announced that the partnership between Neccton and WestLotto will make Neccton the largest provider of responsible gaming in the German market. This collaboration is set to bolster WestLotto's existing efforts in fraud detection and money laundering prevention.

WestLotto, Germany's largest lottery company, which has been in operation since 1955, is currently working with OpenBet to integrate Neccton's advanced harm detection and risk monitoring technology. This technology, specialised in real-time monitoring of transactions and player behavior, will help detect suspicious or fraudulent activities more effectively.

OpenBet, an established gaming technology company with over 20 years of experience in the industry, offers its technologies in over 75 countries worldwide, including Germany, the USA, the UK, and Australia. The company is excited about this future cooperation, believing it will bring many positive effects and contribute to security on the German lottery market.

One of the most well-known lotteries from WestLotto is the classic 6 aus 49. In September 2022, Küstat Yildirim (nickname Chico) from Dortmund won 9.9 million euros in the WestLotto lottery, a win that has been featured in numerous TV reports and on his social media channels. Chico has also shared his own lottery strategy that helped him win. In November 2023, Chico participated in a VOX documentary series and talked about how his life changed after winning the lottery jackpot.

WestLotto offers online lotteries and has been doing so since the early 2000s. The Neccton technology will be used both online and in lottery sales outlets, including Lotto terminals in Netto stores. Although specific details about the Netto store terminals are not explicitly given, the application of Neccton's tools would logically extend to all retail points under WestLotto’s umbrella, including Netto locations.

This partnership delivers improved compliance monitoring, advanced tools for identifying unusual or harmful gambling behavior, and enhanced protection of lottery terminals against manipulation or illicit activities through precise data analytics and alert systems. Axel Weber, head of public affairs, communication, and responsible gaming at WestLotto, stated that the protection of players is a top priority for WestLotto as part of responsible gaming.
